[Action | Raithwall's Tomb | One Week Ago]
[So he really couldn't help himself. There had been some strange book on the table and Ceodore picked it up to see what it was. He thought it might be a gift from Ursula or something. Next thing he knew, there was a glaring light and then Outside Burning Sun. He's gotten used to the sun over the last few months he and Ursula spent governing the Skysea but this feels much hotter and intense.
He holds a hand up to shade his eyes so he can see and what he makes out is familiar. The tomb where Ursula arrived on Gaia. But why in the world is he here? Makes no sense at all. For a moment he suspects another bout with Memoria but that doesn't feel right either. He's alone, and definitely not experiencing a memory. Weird. These things weren't supposed to happen anymore. Not since they settled the Garland/Chaos problem months ago.
He reaches in his pocket for his skyphone to call Ursula first, then his parents. Mother will fret herself sick if she thinks he's gone missing. It's not working. Great. Off in some obscure part of the continent, phone is busted, not a moogle in sight.
Inside the tomb really isn't the best place to get out of the sun, but it's miserable cooking in one's own armor, so he turns to seek out the shelter of the derelict castle at the opposite end of the valley... only to find nothing more than an earthen corridor.]
Hey what gives?
[At this point though, shade is shelter and deserts are really hot. So Ceodore makes quickly for the narrow path into the rock. He follows it for a while until it opens up into what almost looks like a beach. Or it would if there weren't some sort of liquid sand spreading out to the horizon.]
Whoa...

Whoa...

[He pulls his skyphone out to show Mjrn. This is really really strange. Then again, he's looking around and something's not quite right.]
Hey, uh... where'd that old castle go? The weird upside down one?
[Because that was kinda here the last time he was out at Raithwall's Tomb collecting Ursula. Sadly the irony is lost on Ceodore.]
no subject
There is no castle nearby, especially not one which you describe. Nor are such devices known to Ivalice.
no subject
[Or Larsa or the Lady Ashe. There's a sick in the pit of his stomach feeling right now. Princess Ashe had said the tomb was from her world and that of one of her ancestors. Having been jerked out of his own home before, he's figuring out very quickly that he's quite possibly now been jerked away from Gaia. Not good. Exceptionally not good.]
no subject
You...you know Basch? Captain Basch, from Dalmasca?
no subject
Y-yes?
[Or well, he knew and respected the man on Gaia. But if Mjrn doesn't know or remember, would Captain Basch or anyone else? He's being kinda rude though, putting her at a disadvantage by knowing her name and not offering his own.]
Sorry. I uh, I'm Ceodore of the Red Wings.
[Even if he's not on his own world anymore, or even Gaia, he doesn't need those things to lay claim to that. And its easier than going into details about his parents or nation.]
Kind of not from around here.
no subject
[Mjrn's starting to look worried about him.]
Have you been in the sun overlong? I would not wish you to get heat sickness.
[If he doesn't have it already, which she's could easily believe.]
no subject
[Not entirely the truth. He's obviously already starting to turn quite pink. Moonperson skin in desert sun isn't a great combination.]
I don't think I'm getting Desert Fever.
[Then again, he wouldn't know. He's only heard about it and that you shouldn't push too hard in a desert, and plenty of rest, etc. What he does have is a loudly rumbling stomach. He's always hungry, it seems like, but especially right now after tapping into that latent Lunarian strength. He can almost hear Porom's nagging and his mother panicking.
He is very hot, though. Ceodore squints at the distance, trying to figure out what those big circular objects are beyond the rocks.]

Even so, in such attire and without proper supplies in the Sandsea, you would soon gain it. You emerged from the Gate Crystal nearby, did you not? I can use it to guide you to Rabanastre.
[It will mean postponing her hunt, but she's not about to let someone suffer for it. Besides, she has teleport crystals to spare and can return soon enough.]
no subject
You sure? I don't want to keep you from what you were doing.
[Wait a sec, something she said...]
Wait, Sandsea? Like that stuff out there? It's a sea of sand?
no subject
It is known more specifically as the Nam-Yensa Sandsea. Together with the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea to the east, it is called the Great Yensan Sandsea. Traveling to Rabanastre from here on foot is no easy journey, nor swift. I would not recommend it, especially devoid of supplies.
no subject
He kneels down and plunges in both hands, staring as the sand pours off like water.]
Amazing... We don't have anything like this at home and it wasn't in Gaia either.
[And here he thought an entire sea suspended on a floating continent was incredible.]
no subject
There was naught like it in the Wood, as well. When first I saw the Sandsea, it seemed incredible, too fantastic to be true. And yet it was no mirage....
no subject
[The one he fell out of...
He stands and dusts his hands off, stealing one more long look at the geological wonder.]
Sorry about that. All set when you are. And thanks for this.
no subject
You speak of Captain Basch and now my village. How do you know of these? And of me? What you have said has only served to confuse, thus far.
no subject
[Man, he's making a mess of things. Those old feelings of not being good enough are mildly bubbling under the surface now, and he feels like a jerk confusing and upsetting a nice lady who's been nothing but helpful. His head hangs while he follows along and broods on how he's making things worse.]
I met you before, on Gaia. And Captain Basch and Larsa. And you. Well, actually you found me first. On the phone. When I... kinda fell out the village.
...this isn't making a lot of sense, I guess.
no subject
Gaia? I have never heard of such a realm, let alone visited it. My village is located in the Wood, south of Dalmasca, and always has been. And I do not believe all humes appear alike; I would have remembered you, as well.
[Her brow furrows, trying to reconcile all this into something that makes sense.]
Some I can attribute to heat sickness, no doubt, and once we reach Rabanastre I can bring you to see a healer. But the rest....
You know Larsa as well? And you...how did you fall out of the village?!? The way is closed to humes, unless a viera guided you inside.
no subject
[He's got the good grace to look sheepish about more or less being an intruder, even if it wasn't his choice.]
Gaia is not my home world. People arrived from different places, including Ivalice. Places too. The Viera village was one of them and well... that's where I showed up. You were there, and Basch and Larsa.
[More people than just them too but it was too many to list.]
I just... don't understand why I'm here. I thought we stabilized the world so no one would leave anymore.
no subject
I do not understand your presence either. Nor does your tale sound familiar in any measure. Ivalice is full of many wonders, but never have I heard of those who have traveled from other worlds. Or that such existed.
[But she doesn't think he was lying, whatever the cause. It's a terrible lie, for one thing, and she can see that he has her trait of being unable to do so if his life depended on it. Fortunately, it doesn't.]
You were in Eruyt...had other humes not entered before you, namely Basch and his companions, it would seem incredible. Even then, they needed a viera to guide them. Simply arriving there ought not be possible.
...who was present?
[She's not sure she can bring herself to ask about Jote directly, but it's on her mind.]
no subject
[And he was inclined to oblige them, and was attempting to do so when he took an accidental quicker route out.]
I'm sorry...
[Truly, he is. If he could give more information, he would. He feels he owes her at least that much.]
no subject
Do not be. I am not certain it applies, as it is. The fate of Eruyt and those within remains unchanged in Ivalice, for good or ill.
no subject
[Because usually when change happens, it's bad stuff happening.
Still following along when Ceodore notices that weird book he found is still here and has started writing in itself. Basically recording the summary version of the fight and meeting Mjrn.]
What the...
no subject
[At that last part, Mjrn turns and realizes what he's found out.]
I have a grimoire as well, and it records my deeds. I believe all such that exist are alike in that.
no subject
[Although it does make him wonder how the book got into Gaia in the first place if it's something from this world...]
no subject
No, not at all. In fact, they are quite rare. In my travels, I have encountered but a handful of others with a grimoire. I know not why this is so.
[She pauses in front of the large floating crystal, taking out something from her travel bag.]
This is a teleport stone. One will always be needed to access a Gate Crystal, though once you have been to a destination, you shall always be able to reach it afterward.
no subject
[Ceodore, you really do say the strangest things. Stop confusing the nice lady.]
