[Action | Raithwall's Tomb | One Week Ago]

[So he really couldn't help himself. There had been some strange book on the table and Ceodore picked it up to see what it was. He thought it might be a gift from Ursula or something. Next thing he knew, there was a glaring light and then Outside Burning Sun. He's gotten used to the sun over the last few months he and Ursula spent governing the Skysea but this feels much hotter and intense.

He holds a hand up to shade his eyes so he can see and what he makes out is familiar. The tomb where Ursula arrived on Gaia. But why in the world is he here? Makes no sense at all. For a moment he suspects another bout with Memoria but that doesn't feel right either. He's alone, and definitely not experiencing a memory. Weird. These things weren't supposed to happen anymore. Not since they settled the Garland/Chaos problem months ago.

He reaches in his pocket for his skyphone to call Ursula first, then his parents. Mother will fret herself sick if she thinks he's gone missing. It's not working. Great. Off in some obscure part of the continent, phone is busted, not a moogle in sight.

Inside the tomb really isn't the best place to get out of the sun, but it's miserable cooking in one's own armor, so he turns to seek out the shelter of the derelict castle at the opposite end of the valley... only to find nothing more than an earthen corridor.]

Hey what gives?

[At this point though, shade is shelter and deserts are really hot. So Ceodore makes quickly for the narrow path into the rock. He follows it for a while until it opens up into what almost looks like a beach. Or it would if there weren't some sort of liquid sand spreading out to the horizon.]

Whoa...

[Yeah, Ceodore, Mjrn's just going to think your father is full of it when he's talking about rabbits on the moon. She glances sidelong at him for that, then shakes her head.]

Moogles have many talents. Mechanics is but one, but what they are best known for; some deliver mail, I have no doubt.

[She points to a moogle standing next to a device.]

In Rabanastre, they also operate the moogling, a device which allows instantaneous transport throughout the city. We need not use it for now, that you may have a better sense of where all is located, but it is most useful.

[Mjrn's brow furrows.]

The cities, you mean? Archades, the capital of the Archadian Empire, is larger...I believe. Others are smaller, yet still very active. It was a shock to me, as well. The Wood is not known for its dense population.

[Of course Mjrn has no sense of either place, but she's almost getting used to his comments.]

Were either your home? At least for a time? What were they like?

Crystals are a fact of life in Ivalice, as well. I hope your time in Alfitaria means you will find it easier to adjust, then. Did they have Mist and magicite, as well? Skystones are a type of magicite which gift flight to airships.

[Mjrn points to various shops as they come into view.]

That is Migelo's Sundries, the local source of healing potions and such. You will also find shops for weapons and armor -though you seem not to need them now- as well as magicks. There is a tavern at the far end, called the Sandsea. It has a hunt board, in which various petitions are posted. I often visit for that reason.

[She nods, a little surprised about that but glad she doesn't have to explain that one thing.]

Aye, indeed. Other hunts are available through my hunting clan, Clan Centurio. Our base is near the Muthru Bazaar.

As for Mist, it seems different from what you describe. Here, it is the source of magick...and a great boon or danger, if found in large amounts. I do not favor such areas, for viera are sensitive to it.
