Grimoires/Action in Archades jails
[ The plan had been simple enough. Go to Archades, listen in on some conversations - maybe even use her newfound abilities to ask the local rats - surely there had to be rats somewhere - if they had any information. Sell the information to someone who wanted it. Maybe even spin it into a story, see if anyone wanted her writing. Walk away richer. Buy cake. Easy.
The first flaw in the plan had been the first flaw with most of her plans, the part where she was too tall and too grey with ears that stuck out too much. The giant karakul she had befriended really didn't make her look any less out of place, either. She could have recovered from that. Probably. Just a little talking, maybe a little bribery- easy enough.
The second flaw in the plan had been that when the guard grabbed her a little more roughly than the little sheep approved of, it had sneezed him across the street and sprinted off. That was somewhat harder to talk her way out of.
And that was how Braids found her way to this cell. She doesn't seem too upset by it - it's an inconvenience, certainly, but nothing to get too worked up over. And all the Grimoires have to say about this whole incident is- ]
On this day, the good people of Archades were terrorized by a perturbed sheep.
((OOC: The Yan (friendly variety) will be running through the city for a while before running off - it's going to be a hunt later. It's not aggressive, but will respond to aggression by using Snort to send the aggressor flying in the opposite direction.))

The young woman they bring in doesn't look like any Hyur, or any race really, that she's ever seen. Still, she can't help but worry. There's been a lot of people brought in for nothing more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And honestly, Archadians aren't exactly the most open and accepting of people in the best of times.]
Are you alright?

[ And she is, for the most part. The guards she encountered were overzealous, certainly, but they weren't the types to abuse their power just to hurt people. There are a few bruises on her arms, from when she tried to chase her yan friend and was restrained, but they're nothing serious. Her good mood doesn't seem to be bruised at all. ]
It's hardly the first time I've got in trouble because of a sheep, and it's probably not going to be the last. You doing okay?
pretend that was Hume and not Hyur because I was tired orz
[Penelo might find that more odd than she does, were it not for the fact this is Archades and well, her own pet helped instigate her arrest.]
I'm fine, but my friend's not. He was bitten by a snake and that was hours ago, while I'm sitting in here.
[She glares at the door for good measure, because she's beyond huffy with them for this.]

Your sheep has yet to be found. Though I will not guarantee it will be returned to you when it is located.

It's okay, he's smart. Probably. He'll be fine!
Thank you for trying! ♥

"Is this the one?" [ The Judge Magister asks the guards once they finally reach the Duskwight's cell. He peers inside from behind his helm while ignoring some of the remarks that the other prisoners slung at him. As usual, Archadians are vilified even in their hour of confusion and need. Foreigners are not welcomed in Archades right now after their Emperor had been poisoned. With the state in chaos and the Senate still not reinstated, the Empire is utterly at disarray. While Zargabaath has plans to counteract all this nonsense, it might be some time until he does. ]

Still, she's trying. ]
Me? I mean- if it's me you're looking for, I'm right here! Well met! And if it's not I'll help best I can, if you need anything!

"Settle down!" [ The Magister orders once the other prisoners become a tad too boisterous for his liking. With just the flick of his wrist, Zargabaath orders the other judges to linger away as he slowly strides into the cell. ]
"Are you the one who messaged me?" [ Zargabaath says as he holds up his leather-back grimoire within his left hand. The worn face of the book is heavily scarred despite being essentially brand new. These scars serve as a testament of how many times Zargabaath has tried to rid himself of this accursed book. ]
"If so, you are one of the few who possess a grimoire like this."

[ The elezen shuffles nervously as the other judges leave, not entirely sure what to do beyond talk far too much and hope that the hushed whispers about what might be next are untrue. Her conjury's gone, after all, and her 'bodyguard' is off running around the city. ]
I do! I mean, I've tried to give it to the guards, I really have! I can give it to you now, if you want! It's just- it keeps coming back. It's not a very well-behaved book. And it likes me. Kind of like the sheep, really...

"As you may know, these are no ordinary tomes. They're laden with magicks far greater than what I ever seen before."
[ Zargabaath offers his tome towards one of his men for safe-keeping before turning towards the Elezen again. ]
"I beseech you, tell me of the realm which you hail from, foreigner."
